Ferrari F40 Competizione
Description
The F40 Competizione is a non-sponsored and more powerful variant of the F40 LM race car, based on the Ferrari F40. 10 examples were built, with the first two dubbed as F40 LMs and the remaining 8 being F40 Competiziones, as Ferrari felt that the LM tag would be too restrictive.
In 1996, the Ferrari F50 GT, which is based on the F40's successor, the Ferrari F50, was introduced as the F40 Competizione/LM's successor.
The Ferrari F40 Competizione's 2.9L twin-turbocharged V8 produces 691 hp (515 kW) and 526 ft·lb (713 N·m), albeit with revised cams, intercoolers, and more boost. Open headlights replace the pop-up headlights, and the addition of several NACA ducts and carbon fiber rear wings complete the new exterior. With fluids, the car weighs 2293 lb (1040 kg), which was changed to 2315 lb (1050 kg) in the Forza games.
